没想到在美国跨州搬家一次如此耗油耗电。
A list of things we’ve done in the past three weeks:
1. Sign the lease for the new apartment;
2. Changed our address with the post office, our credit card company and a whole bunch of other places which has a scintilla chance of sending us a mail or a bill;
3. Transfer the car’s title;
4. Transfer our driver license;
5. Open a new account with a local bank and closed an old one;
6. Fix a chronical problem our car has and do the annual inspection required by this state;
7. Transfer the auto insurance;
8. Buy a new health insurance;
9. Buy new cooking pan, kitchen knife, bowls and plates, chopsticks and forks, sugar and salt……

We’ve written off a bunch of checks and are expecting a bill storming.

Life Back on Track

I finally get the messy summer in order and have my life back on track.

The new old apartment finally look like a home with old bookshelf collected from neighborhood roadside and inexpensive and practical computer desk picked up from Office Depot.

I didn’t feel back on track until Icecube set up the internet this morning and I became able to sit before my laptop and continued with my jabbering here.

南方人的热情

要离开这里了，再次感受到美国南方人的热情和友好。
早上去修车，修车的师傅帮我们看完之后，指出了一个主要问题，还花了10多分钟给我们讲解，教我们怎样自己换配件，最后还不收钱，他说， 我知道你们都是学生，检车就免费了。
后来我们在家门口换火花塞，旧的塞子拔了半天出不来，一个老外就过来了，帮我们拔，未果， 又匆匆从他家里给我们找来工具，帮我们解决了问题。前后足足花了他30分钟。
后来我们去auto zone去买了一样配件，自己在店门口换，一个老头就过来，主动给我们帮忙。

昨天晚上和几个朋友在一起聊天，还在讨论这个南方小镇的好处，现在越发让人觉得这个地方可爱了。

Trip Planning

Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be on our way, so we are going to spend two days there and another day driving to Icecube's new school. I did some research today and it seems to be a fun place.

打包，搬家

不收拾不知道，东西还真不少

周日

从国内来了一个新学生，需要临时在我们这里住几天，于是家里更是熙熙攘攘了. 新生是个斯文的贵州人，来的时候带着杯子带者勺, 带了洗发水和香皂，跟我当初来美国一样。问他带了什么贵州土产，他说他带了一瓶老干妈.

周六

周六:
上午去一个农场摘蓝霉, 边吃边摘，饱了之后以市场价三分之一的价格买了三磅回来，家里的三个小伙子很捧场，一天就消灭了。
ICECUBE边大把地往嘴里塞，边鼓着腮帮子说，恩, 真好吃，你下周再去摘点回来.

晚上去一个泰国餐厅吃了一顿. 上次我们请YY 和WW吃了一顿大餐, 他们誓死反请我们, 于是去了一家越南餐厅，一人点了一个河粉，吃的都很高兴，但YY和WW坚持说这顿太便宜，一定要再请一顿----其实也是因为他们周末不愿意做饭.
餐毕又去老地主家里打开牌局,一直奋战到半夜. 地主婆挺这个大肚子，眼皮都不眨地陪我们玩到最后.

开了几天天窗，今天补起来

周五:
晚上去KIM家了，这对韩国夫妇已经多次邀请我们去他门家里蹭饭吃.他们是一对虔诚的的基督徒, 在学校里开了一个BIBLE STUDY小组，每周五晚上学习, 专门邀请国际学生参加, 同时邀请一些美国教授作为"诱饵"。他们已经坚持了6年了，我很被他们的执著精神感动, 所以踊跃参加了一个学期，韩国夫妇对我对这个活动的"支持"感到很高兴，同时也感觉我很有"发展前途", 所以我们也就成了朋友.
周六去他们家是因为老地主跟他们借了一盘关于INTELLIGENCE DESIGN的录象带，所以kIM夫妇邀请我们去讨论讨论，结果老地主看完了一个录象带就被这种理论收买了， 害得我跟他争论了一通, 把老底也暴露了.
